Top Tips To Showcase Your Fireplace

The fireplace is often the central feature in a living space, so here are some great suggestions that can help you showcase your fireplace to best effect.

If you’re investing in a new fireplace in Cannock for your home, chances are that once it’s fitted you’re going to want to show it off.

But how best to do that and make the most of this new feature in your living room? Luckily the Daily Hampshire Gazette has some suggestions that can help you showcase your fireplace to best effect.

The news provider notes that it’s important to look at your room as a whole, not just focusing on the fireplace. Top suggestions include arranging your furniture to highlight the fireplace, and positioning mirrors above or next to your fireplace.

There are a couple of reasons why mirrors work particularly well. Firstly, they draw the eye, which means everyone will focus on your fireplace, and secondly they reflect light.

If you’d rather not have a mirror over your fireplace, consider a large piece of art instead. This can be another great way to draw the eye to this part of your room.

One thing you should avoid mounting above your fireplace, however, is your TV. Not only can this detract from the ambience a fireplace brings, but the heat that’s generated can also damage your electronics.

Make sure you don’t forget about your mantelpiece either. You could add a new decorative mantel when you install your fireplace, or you could simply paint the existing one. Whatever you’d prefer.

For something a little different, you could consider tiling your fireplace surround. The Times of Oman suggested using a variety of tile shapes to “easily elevate small spaces” such as fireplace surrounds.
